While her parents and older brother cling to the strict black and white religious laws governing their lives, Rose feels stiffled and uncertain. When circumstances force her attend public secondary school instead of the strict religious school of her parents' choice, a sympathetic teacher opens the girl's eyes to a much more loving and comfortable world.
