‘Krauts!’ someone screams and the men are running every which way.
‘Good . . . I mean, damn!’ Murdoch says. As all are in confusion, Murdoch runs straight ahead. He needs to instruct this company in the correct application of the hand grenade. As he runs, he extracts the pin of one with his teeth. Sure enough, up ahead a tank rumbles straight towards him. From the turret, the gun swivels and takes aim.
