The Bet

Gregory is used to Sharon speaking her mind about the lifestyle. He usually encourages it. When she calls into question the strength of submissives, however, he cannot simply let it go without a challenge. He suggests a bet, to prove if she truly has a greater strength of will than a submissive. Sharon accepts and in the process learns more about submission and humility than she had thought possible.
