Wem of Wister

When Wem sees a legendary bird flying toward Mount Zul, he believes it is a sign to show him the way to the Godern people's home. Will his family and friends believe him? On his journey, he works for the Zhulean Realm, processing a poisonous fruit that protects people from dangerous beasts. Through his work he learns that the Godern believe the fruit is cursed, and that all who touch it are cursed. He must decide between following the ways of the Godern or the Realm. When at last he reaches Mount Zul, he learns about the origins of the curse, and is called upon to help remove it. But can he--and how?
