Clean Sweep

The running feud between two local families in Welford is spiced up as the Gypsies pay their annual visit. They no sooner arrive than the daughter of their leader is seriously assaulted. Suspects include almost every villain in town, and it is down to DI Jim Bennett and his team to find the perpetrator before war breaks out in town. Members of both the Marstons and Connelly families were in the area, but the evidence contradicts an easy arrest. A mystery policeman seems to hold the key, but no one knows who he is.
Things are compounded by the disappearance of a seven-year-old boy and a number of aggravated burglaries. As a rape is added to the spiraling list of crimes, the pressure is on Jim Bennett to get results, and fast.
