The Invited

Isolated on Dartmoor, Violet begins to notice peculiar changes in her mother and the house. Doors swing shut or open without being touched, shadows move inexplicably across walls and windows and cruel laughter can be heard in an empty house. Violet begins to wonder if perhaps some dark spirit or entity has taken up residence in the house since her father's death.

When her mother announces plans to remarry, Violet is not surprised, as her mother has been secretly meeting with a new lover now for months, but on the day of the wedding, when she is officially to meet Mr. Drewer, Violet receives a shock and learns a secret that could destroy their new found financial security.
