‘Doctor Davis, why is it that you have decided to go on this mission and abandon the more exclusively feminine activities of household duties and meal preparation?’

Murdoch and his companions are about to head off into space, to be the first humans to set foot on the magenta planet Mars. And, yes, in the 1950s, a woman is abandoning her homely duties to make such an expedition.
Murdoch and his crew make excellent time. So excellent, that they have used up all their gas. Perhaps they will find some intelligent life and a filling station?
After finding some life, they are invited back for dinner - not realising that they are the dinner.

Will Murdoch and his companions survive dinner? Will they find their way back to Earth? And will Doctor Davis get back in the kitchen where she belongs?

This satirical story is written in the tradition of B-Grade stories, complete with all the stereotypes, creativity and effects – flaws and all.
The characters are purely fictitious. Any similarities with any person, living or dead, are entirely coincidental.
