Shane has been working with the same accounting firm for a number of years, and he needs a change. The job has become banal and it doesn't excite him the way that it used to years ago. Simply put: he's burnt out. When his manager informs him that he's been scheduled to attend a conference, he's less than thrilled. Still, he can use some time away from the office, and who doesn't like a comped 5-star hotel? While relaxing at the hotel bar, he meets Scarlett and there's an immediate attraction. They get to talking, and they enjoy each other's company so much that they lose track of time. Needing to get up early the next morning, he tells her goodnight and they leave to go to their respective rooms. Before going their separate ways, they exchange contact information at Scarlett's request. While in bed, Shane receives a text from Scarlett asking him to come to her room. Believing her to be drunk, he reluctantly obliges her in the hopes that she'll talk herself to sleep, and that he can get back to bed. Upon going downstairs, however, he soon realizes that sleeping is the last thing on Scarlett's mind. And while he doesn't know it yet, Shane is about to come face to face with the change that he's been so frantically seeking.
