One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty Four Words: Book One, is the first of ten books of poems. It touches everything and anything from experiences and observations from the early and late 90's and a few items from my current work. The poems featured in this book are not a work of fiction, they are about real occurrences and inspirations. Poetry for me isn't just about creative writing, it is more about taking off the fictitious layers of doubt, fear; and arrogance and most importantly about exposing the real me. This first book could be regarded as even a journal of my life as a South African, and through all the stages of change I have remained the same.
We experience the world in different ways and we see different shades in all colours; but the colour of murder remains the same - and the shades of death... remain black and ashy.
Come with me on a journey and see what I have seen, and hear about all the wondrous stories I've heard. In all this, remember that no one’s soul is barer than that of a poet – there’s no need for secrets, no need for superficies and there is definitely no need for sugar-coating anything. There’s nothing more real than the words contained in this book.
The 1984words series will end with Book 10!
