Muller is an audacious, wisecracking streamboat captain with a scoundrel's edge; a wanted man, bent on making a name for himself in the skyward realm, where floating islands ride the never-ending wind currents that encircle the planet. When his plot to steal a fortune in rare gravstone goes awry, Muller finds himself the subject of a manhunt led by his law-loving nemesis, Captain Ludolf Kupfer of the Civil Regency Corps.

But even among Muller's crew, betrayal runs deep. A lost city, a deadly sabotage, and a series of narrow escapes will lead him on a quest to uncover a conspiracy that's been years in the making. A conspiracy in which he's played an integral role without being any the wiser. Now, with his list of allies growing thin, he'll be forced to choose between keeping his own freedom and saving thousands of innocent lives...
