Party Animals

Since her son’s murder, Kerry Williams has been unwilling to connect with other people. Her anger rages behind a veneer of superficial pleasantries that she invokes in order to endure her daily existence with some grace. She has come to see her life as an earthly purgatory, and when she goes to an old acquaintance’s fiftieth birthday party, she feels she may be about to descend into hell.
