Bornlord

Many things have changed in the hundreds of years since the original settlers of Aldar left the old Kingdom. When the country is forced to reestablish contact with the Kingdom, the band of trained sword fighters that undertakes the job is faced with a world that is puzzling and often unnerving. In Tregon, the Kingdom's capital, the armsors settle into an inn in the poorer area of the city to begin a search for coralin, the precious medicine needed by Aldar. While the search remains fruitless, the armsors' contact with the Dockside dwellers becomes more and more complicated. The armsors take stands against both the gang lords that terrorize the sector and the area's predatory priests. Too late, the Aldarans find they have raised the anger of the Kingdom's regent and his military and religious advisors. Are the skills, the self-confidence, and the awareness of the armsors enough to ensure their success in a land of bornlords, where people inherit power and position rather than earning it? The answer lies in the fighters remaining true to themselves.
