Batyah was born at the peak of the Civil Rights Movement. Her childhood experiences (less than ordinary), have given her a unique perspective on life.
Growing up, as a way to cope with the pain of her troubled life, Batyah turned to writing. The result is in this collection of deeply personal and poignant poems and essays.
Originally published as "Batyah's RealEase" in paperback in 2004, this revised "E-dition" includes poems written while the author worked with detainees in the criminal justice system.
"Through these works, which range in emotion from fear to anger to joy, to pain understanding and transformation. Batyah displays an overcoming spirit that has the innocence of a child, the courage of a warrior, and the wisdom of the Ages." John Roach, 2004
"Love guided Batyah to 'get a pencil' and write as a way to heal her own pain and suffering. Love has now guided this 'daughter of God' to offer her writings to others as nourishment for the spirit of love that is in each of us."
Aombaye Ramsey, Ph. D. 2004
"Beth (Batyah) Roberts has taken charge of life and journey by putting her expressions and emotions on paper to share with the world. Beth has captured the 'True Human Spirit' in her work. Thank you for sharing your story."
Frankie Darcell, Radio Personality and Author, 2004
