This book/movie was written with more passion and clarity than the award-winning book/movies. The Butler starring Oprah Winfrey, D jangle starring Jamie Foxx, Good Deeds starring Tyler Perry, and 12 Years A Slave combined! If you have not seen the above-mentioned movies, it is a must add to your weekend to do lists. As discussed in one chapter of this book, one of my goals in life is to change and stop the practice of a horrible man made emotional disease. This disease has created more poverty, pain, and destruction than any other disease known to mankind. The sad part is, that this disease is 100% curable through legislation, psychiatrist and education. The single powerful worded disease that we call "prejudice" has kept mankind in a primitive state of mind and growth, even with today's advanced technology. Imagine with me for a moment if you will. If not for prejudice mankind would have found the cures to all medical illnesses. Our political leaders would have put policies in place for all of God's survival resources, to be distributed evenly around the world. Sciences would have discovered the mathematical equations to travel the universe, discovering untold wealth and resources to benefit all of mankind. The idea of 30 to 40,000 babies starving to death each day, from something as simple as a lack of food, would be unheard of in a non-prejudice society. To be prejudged for something no man has control over such as birth fate or geography, is a crime against God and humanity. This "spaceship"we call earth evolves around the sun providing warmth, food, air, and water, for all of God's wonderful creatures to consume. This curable man made disease has affected many lives over the centuries, including my great-grandfather. In another chapter of this book, the story is told about my great-great-grandfather Earl who was born in the 1800s as a slave on the Gibson plantation. Many years later Massa Gibson the plantation owner gave strict orders to all of his slaves and hired hands, as he told them they were to kill all newborn nonessential livestock. This particular year had an unusual cool summer and a very cold winter that had destroyed most of the plantation's crops. According to the non-slave hired hands, there were absolutely no profit to be had this year after the crops were sold at market. Unbeknownst to Massa Gibson, Earls wife my great-great grandmother worked on the other side of the plantation and was due to have twins any day now. Everyone on the plantation knew when Massa Gibson gave the order to do something it was law, or face the devastating consequences. A few days later Earls firstborn sons were delivered by the plantations slave midwife. As all the slaves on the plantation where excited to see these beautiful babies, they dare not speak of it to anyone. A few weeks had passed and somehow word had leaked to Massa Gibson about these baby boys. He immediately got his walking cane and walked to Earl shack to see these babies for himself. When he got there Massa Gibson became very angry to see two healthy plump well feed babies, that were a few weeks old. He immediately swung his walking cane as he hit Earl across his ear/head knocking him to the dirt floor. He cursed, screamed, spit, and yelled at Earl for disobeying his strict order to kill all non-essential livestock, as there was no money in this year's budget to feed them slop or food. Then he told Earl to, drown them there babies immediately, and walked away heading back towards the big house. Earl slowly walked towards the babies, picked them up and walked out back to the big water barrel. As Earl chipped away the thin layer of ice that had formed on the water, he dropped his tool and slowly dip the boys into the ice cold water. The babies screamed like Earl had never heard babies scream before. He said to himself, I cannot do this to my firstborn. He wrapped the babies up in a few old potato sack bags and ran off into the woods hiding the babies. He returned to his shack a few minutes later shaking from the cold and the fear of Massa Gibson. Then Earl killed two well feed puppies that were being grown for future hunting dogs, leaving the back gate open as if the puppies had ran off. He buried the puppies in the graves where he should have buried his twin sons. A few days later one of the house slaves got word of this incident as she reported it to Massa Gibson. This defiance made Massa Gibson so angry he slapped the slave that told him about the incident, at the same time yelling Earl is going to die by hand and the whip today.........
