Big Jim Exon

J. James Exon was big in stature, big in heart, and big in politics and government, both in Nebraska and nationally. The thirty-third Nebraska governor, who began his life in politics as a precinct worker for the Democrats, went on to serve as U.S. senator for eighteen years after his governorship, retiring in 1997. In his entire political career Jim Exon never lost an election.
