A veteran and former POW learns that the pathway from PTSD can be found by trading his self pity for a desire to help others, specifically victims of domestic abuse. Rene teams up with a Catholic nun to help a woman and her child escape their abuser. Emotions, rubbed to a raw edge in these circumstances can easily escalate to violence. In this case, the danger is on steroids because the abusive husband is the money man for a local drug dealer. "The Lamp" takes place in that unique spot on our planet, a country called New Orleans. And, would you believe, the seed for a love story is planted, but then anything is possible in New Orleans.
