Flee

This wasn't part of the plan. So why couldn't I walk away? I should just walk away. There was too much risk, too much danger in staying.

But those eyes.

One look into her beautiful but haunted green eyes and I knew I was all in. Oh, I fought it. And Like a wave fighting to not reach shore, forces were at work between us that made that effort worthless. So I gave up the fight and went for the happily ever after.

Now if I could just keep her alive, we might reach that. And if I couldn't? Yeah, there was no answer to that.

I would keep her alive, even if it cost my life. I just really hoped it didn't.
