This book is the fourth in the six-book series, SENT. Learning that Ceber has been gone for several days, Calgol, a Roman captain, attacks his village, capturing the men and forcing them to row his ship. Assuming that he is sailing south to the enemy encampment, Ceber and Guilda attempt to intercept him there, only to discover that he has already left for Cadiz, Spain. Anxious that he might soon sail for Rome, they try to hurry to Spain, but are delayed by a strong winter storm.
