Katrina L. Hawkins was born in Columbus, Indiana. She holds a degree in business management, and works at an insurance company.
She started writing at the age of thirteen. With the inspiration and encouragement of her sister, Ashley, she made the decision to publish. Under the indirect tutelage of the authors John Flanagan, Anthony Horowitz, and Nora Roberts, the author developed her own voice and style.
The author also owes thanks to the rest of her family and friends who have encouraged and supported her through critiques of her work.
Although she writes constantly, she enjoys horseback riding with her family, reading good books, watching movies, and seeing and travelling to new places every chance she gets.
