HELLBOUND EXPRESS
Mad Dog Shorty. Dirty Slim. Dinky Shore. Bull Gandy. Gray Older. The list goes on and on. They’re all dead now, killed by Lonesome Red or each other. Some say they were last seen riding the Hellbound Express to its next stop on the route to hell.
Others say the Hellbound Express was just a story Jinx Jenkins made up to amuse himself and scare others.
Maybe it doesn’t matter. Grubline Gip said it didn’t make much difference how a sinner got to hell, whether he arrived on the Hellbound Express or some other way.
It didn’t make much difference to Lonesome Red how they got to hell, as long as they got there.
Want to the ride the Hellbound Express? They say it’s waiting near the wild western town of Dead Man Pass for those who are a little too slow on the draw.
WARNING: Reading a Van Holt western may make you want to get on a horse and hunt some bad guys down in the Old West. Of course, the easiest and most enjoyable way to do it is vicariously – by reading another Van Holt western.
Van Holt writes westerns the way they were meant to be written.
