FAVOR IS MY NAME

She was in her fifties when she changed her name. Earlier on this woman worked as a secretary for several years in a company. She could not be promoted because she did not have one of the core requirement for the positions which is, GED or its equivalent. You see, she only leant to type and that was it. As a result, she decided to register and take the examination as an external candidate. She took time and studied for it. When she finished the examination there was no doubt in her mind that she would not pass it but she failed. She encouraged herself and repeated the examination and failed again. With the thought of promotion acting as her motivation, she continued to take the examination but flunked it. By the sixth time, she knew the invigilators by their names and was on first name basis with some of the teachers. During the seventh trial and preparation she was hit by a passing motorcyclist and was admitted in a hospital.
As a result, she could not attempt the examination. She took heart and planned for the ninth attempt. On a certain day her mail was brought to her and she noticed a letter from the examination center and offices. The letter was informing her that, she had failed the examination. But she never took the examination. How can they send her a failed letter when she did not partake in the examination? Immediately she was discharge this woman went directly to the managing offices of the examination board. When she inquired about her letter their answer surprised her. They explained to her that there is a possibility that the computer reconciled her name as it has done several times and printed out a letter for her. This woman now understood the importance of name. Her name was Madalynn. She decided to do a name change. She registered with her new name. She informed the invigilators that: Favor is her name. When the day of examination came around, she was among the first to finish and completed the examination. Six week later her result arrive and she passed it. Everyone was rejoicing with her. Then she said happily: "Favor is my name – I am now a child of favor." She desired supernatural favor and received it.
When she changed her name, she also renewed her mind. It goes both ways. Which brings us to the story of Naomi and Ruth.
