Family is always there to help you pick yourself up and start all over again. Family--and Sunday Dinner. At the end of the day everyone just wants to know they have a place at the table...
I am alone on Christmas Eve and my
table is empty. There are no more Sunday Dinners for the O'Neal Family. The
events of this past year have made certain of that. Oh, those events--things
which began to happen and take place during our weekly Sunday Dinners as far
back as last January...
Sunday Dinner began for Paddy and Evelyn O'Neal before they even arrived in Chicago. On the train all those years ago before they were even married, as they sat close to one another, she told him about the Sunday Dinners they would have.
"When we have
our family I want meals to be special!" she said to him, her slim young face
flawless and full of hope as they left for Chicago. "I want every single week
to be a holiday, Paddy! We'll do Sunday
Dinner each week!"
He nodded, wondering what they were going off to. The two of them sat huddled together on the
train, her sisters in the seats behind them.
"Sunday Dinner
each week," Evelyn said again, her head with the red-blonde curls against his
shoulder.
Paddy nodded.
The train moved on in a steady stream of movement, taking them away from
all that had been--the terrible lives she and her sisters had. Together they made their way toward a future they
would build together--and Sunday Dinner...
Get to know and love the O'Neal Family as they gather on Erie Street, in Chicago, each week for Sunday Dinner-- during a year which will change all of their lives forever.
In the absence of Sunday Dinner there is silence.
Their voices nearby do not surround me. I am alone on Christmas Eve and my
table is empty. There are no more Sunday Dinners for the O'Neal Family. The
events of this past year have made certain of that. Oh, those events--things
which began to happen and take place during our weekly Sunday Dinners as far
back as last January...
Find out what has happened to Sunday Dinner for the O'Neal Family. We've set a place, just for you....
