Crazy Has Places to Hide

An American oligarch is about to change the face of the United States government, and he plans to do it one dead senator at a time. Driven by an outsized sense of personal destiny, McAllister will also try to tidy up a few items on the world scene that have been driving him crazy. There is one man who can stop this plan, but he was reportedly killed a year earlier. Or, so they thought.
The gulf between right and left is wider than at any time since the 1930s. Economies are teetering and the citizens of some western democracies seem willing to trade personal freedoms for stability. Especially if those freedoms belong to others. Harsh political winds have been blowing from the extreme right in Europe. There has been a disturbing drift back toward old-style fascism, and Sweeney McAllister figures he will give it a helpful nudge. But the prize he truly covets is control of the U.S. Congress.
Robert Chase is a legend inside the CIA. He and constant companion Samantha were wounded and reported killed in a messy crossfire in Paris a year earlier. They are not quite ready to get back in the game, but if they hesitate they may not find a world they recognize. A conspiracy has already been formed to kill the new President of France. Chase discovers the designated assassin on a routine assignment to keep tabs on the dangerous cyber-terrorist, Andreas, and he is pulled into the hunt. McAllister has already started the clock on three murders in the United States which will put his supporters in control of the Senate. The stage is set for danger, intrigue, and deadly consequences.
In their first adventure together, Chase and Samantha had defined roles. He was the covert agent and she was the girl friend. They both understood that this couldn't last. Sam has secrets of her own that must come out in time, and when they do, everything else must change.
