Merely Players is a story about passion and the roles two lovers play until they learn their most fulfilling parts are those that demand complete surrender to who they really are.

Lorene Hay is a reclusive freelance writer in her 20's who spends most of her time writing short stories for various popular magazines. David "Mac" MacLeod is a thirty-something movie actor on the verge of super stardom with a big heart, a big mouth, and a big bosomed co-star, the conniving Veronica, who is determined to keep Mac for herself. After the ultimate in heartbreak and betrayal, David and "Lore", as she's affectionately known, part ways -- apparently for good. Lore finds healing with the help of her cousin/best friend Mikki and a producer from a big time production company. She assumes another identity, writes the screenplay to a blockbuster tear-jerker film about her failed relationship with Mac that results in their lives once again being tangled together; this time in a web of lies, misunderstanding, jealousy and ultimately - love.
