This is a cautionary tale teaching the lesson of how children should follow rules. The story is more along the lines of a Grimm fairy tale or a Goosebumps type of story.
warning this story does not particularly have a happy ending although a happier one is provided for the more pc people. There are also three additional stories that pertain to Christmas and are more uplifting and hopeful.
