Amazing reference and post!! It outlines specific reasons why many women might not be suited for careers as a reporter in the later 1800's. This novel contradicts with the ideas in the Victorian Era of his time or the Quiet Revolution and to simply put it, Bennett is a strict conservative. Even though he tries not to degrade women a whole lot, he believes that women are not meant for "Journalism" or pursuing careers as a whole....unless if you have a strong passion in Journalism and he questions the reader about it.
