He obtained a contract to sub at a country high school surrounded by farms from which most of the students came. In the story, Devils Hole Rd, the reader is taken into the high school classrooms at Westlake High in southern Indiana as Donald is transformed nurturing a fantasy about a sixteen year old junior, Diana Sabatini. A fantasy that takes on a life of its own. Donald’s transformation comes to fulfilment on DEVILS HOLE RD in Diana’s step father Tony Sabatini’s auto restoration garage. A fulfilment which leads him to Judge Lester Petermen’s court room on a warm April afternoon.
