Barrow II: Under the Thousand Stars

A new set of protagonists are thrust on to the Barrow stage by events. A magician (Brandelvar) fails in attempt to loot a temple treasury and meets an unusual demon. After another set of near-disasters, he and his companions are forced into a dangerous journey to stop the assassination of the Emperor in distant Sai-khand. If they fail, Barrow is doomed. Worse, they know neither the assassin's identity nor the time and place of the attempted murder. The book closes with the story "Two Dwarves Are Better Than One," a key to later events.
