The Canopy of Heaven

In 1968, Zeke Petronius comes back from the nightmare of a year in combat in Vietnam to fiery anti-war demonstrations, draft card burnings, and cries of "Hell no, we won't go!"
Having seen the ugly fury of the war close up and personal, his support of the anti-war movement is tempered by his pressing need to build a life of his own from the seedy poverty of his youth.
Bethany Shields is soon recruited to the cause, and together they fight back with courage and determination against a series of unanticipated obstacles that block their way forward.
