Tummy time is the best way for baby to increase trunk stability, limb coordination and head control. During tummy time, place baby on his/her tummy to play while you supervise. Introduce baby to tummy time as early as three weeks old and start with five minute sessions a day. If baby doesn't like the activity right away, don't fret! It takes a lot of work to move around and develop those muscles, so keep at it. Remember, never leave baby alone during tummy time and pick him/her up if crying starts.
