The Book of Psalm Chapter 25 from verse one to three states: "Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause."
If you have an enemy or enemies that is one issue but if they triumph over you that is a ghastly strike. We all have enemies of one sort or another. They may be in the form of opponents, adversaries, rivals, competitors or nemeses. Any of these may arise from your place of work, from within the family, because you have a certain life, your beliefs, race, education or status. All these are all suspects. You see, it is not possible to avoid having enemies for even our day to day survival is enemy-labyrinthine of germs and accidents. The enemy may even be from self. A part of the body may reject another part of the body. In some instances it is self-loathing or a form of hatred from the mind against the body. It may be for what you stands for. An example is a recent case of a group of boys that killed a young man. When asked for a reason for such horrible crime, they reply that they are bored. Their perceived 'boredom' has sent them to jail and taken away the most precious thing they have which is, freedom. In Jesus name, our enemies shall not triumph over us – amen.

Even the dead has enemies as we see in cases where a grave yard is desecrated and the tombstone marked with paint or whatever. Who has no enemy? No one. God has enemies, Jesus had and still have the greatest set of enemies over two thousand years since he died. He still has legions of enemies and his followers are forever prosecuted for no other reason than that.

Let us examine this story.

For ten years they were best of friends. Betty and Karen met when their parents lived in the military barracks. They had similar clothes, went to the same school and dated only guys that were friends to each other. When they began to talk marriage, they both wanted the same sort and nature of husband. Karen was the first to meet a young footballer but their marriage did not last. He was outgoing and loved to hang out with his friends than at home. On the other hand he also complained that the marriage was not working because of Karen's relationship with Betty. One day they had a very critical argument which came down to picking between Betty and her husband. Without missing a heartbeat she declared her preference for Betty over her marriage. That was the end of that relationship. Now, Karen and Betty where inseparable and they even wore same clothes and signed on each other's behalf. While walking out of a clothing store they met an old school mate named Tony. He had always shown interest in Betty and was thrilled to know that she was not married. From then on, Tony and Betty became conjoined and devoted to each other. Karen tried to fit in but those two only have eyes for each other. Karen was not happy and complained to her friend. She said, "You know I gave up my marriage for your sake now you have no time for me." Betty replied, "I love Tony and I do not intend to lose him for anything. I need to test married life just like you did." With this exchange the two friends ignored each other to the bitterness of Karen.
