“Terror in the City,” was written when most of this book had been written. The two books follow the same story line. While “Terror in the City” was written as something out of “Gang Busters” this book adopts a story line similar to that of the “Thin Man” movies with a twist from “I Love A Mystery.” It also fills in some details about the characters and information from previous books.
The Characters
Cat Henderson – Cat turns nineteen. She is learning to use her incredible powers to predict the future. Cat has been recovering from her last adventure, “The Creature at the End of the World.” But events transpire to force her to jump back into action.
Americus Attucks – Americus stands six feet seven inches and tips the scale at 240 pounds. He is an inventor and noted scientist. He left the Texas Rangers over a dispute concerning his mixed race. He then formed his own detective agency and has been traveling the world. But Americus has a secret that not even Cat knows about.
Charles Townsend – Charles inherited the ability to read thoughts and project his thoughts to others. He is quickly mastering his powers. In his last adventure in New York City, documented in the book, “Terror in the City,” Charles has decided to settle in New York and
Ned Maverick – The tough Texan almost got Charles killed in South Africa, as noted in the book, “Trouble on the Cape.” It was an error in judgment which brought the wrath of Americus down on him.
Chase Wright – Chase is working on his law degree and plans on asking Cat to marry him in the near future. His biggest job is to keep Maverick out of trouble.
