Lucian Kane is a wolf, Raven Dhriti is not. Both have a strong Cherokee heritage and reside within the Qualla Indian Reserve just outside of Cherokee NC. For some unknown reason, the Spirit Gods and the Fates have chosen to mate the two. From the time of her birth, Lucian knew she was his true mate but refused to accept it until the day she turned eighteen and woke up with his full mating mark on her left shoulder.
