SENT VI, INVASION

Sent VI, Invasion is the sixth in the six-book series of SENT. The Romans have moved north from their big outpost in the south of the land, future London, all the way to Dun Edin, the future city of Edinburg. With covetous eyes they set their goals even farther north planning to extend the borders of the Roman Empire to include the whole world, certainly the north land occupied by Celts and Picts. These fierce warriors, many of whom are berserkers, have no intentions of allowing this to happen.
Having been informed of the methods used by some of the soldiers in obtaining unconditional surrender, the native sons are determined to fight to the death rather than give in to the depraved egotistical culture of Rome.
Guilda and Solene feel insecure about future food and seed supplies for their villages in case the invading Romans should conquer them. The armies have been guilty of denuding the settlements of all stored food where they won battles. To avoid this situation, the healers plan to develop a hidden and secret storage area where they can stockpile enough supplies to survive. The stash must be plentiful, well hidden, dry, cool, and animal proof. But where?
During a lull of warfare, Ceber longs to take a six-month voyage of discovery, something he has wanted to do for fifteen years, but will the peaceful respite last that long? All the men, old and young, want to go, but none of the women approve of the scheme, seeing themselves vulnerable if so many men leave.
