For Your Honor

Some of us get our first glimpse of the word honor in our 4th grade spelling lists. There saddled next to battle and knight. For few of us it is learned as we have earned the right to carry its banner with us through life as we have conquered all the obstacles life has set before us. And for a special few of us it is a trait breathed into us from birth with a veneration of unwavering respect, love and awe.

Honor is more than a medal pinned to a chest, more encompassing then to be merely held in an exceptional high esteem. Honor is more than recognition and distinction. It is in each of us, young and old… brave and scared alike. It is the color of red that courses through our veins and beats within our hearts. It is foundation of this country as much today as it was upon its first day we untied as a nation. Though we may not see the spectrum of its light in the same way, we are ALL compelled by it in strength and passion to press on when we think we no longer can.

This is a story… a trifecta of honor. The strongest shape is a triangle. It is my desire and my pleasure to share with you a trinity of understanding. I encourage you to read this gripping tale and let it speak to you. It is sure to make you laugh, as well as cry… with as much inexpressible joy as it will bring you pain. It is a wondrous tale of fiction and make-believe… that could very well be true.

This book is specifically dedicated to the brave men and women of the Patriot Guard Riders, who without fame, fortune, or fear... effortlessly place themselves in between opposite viewpoints to maintain peace, love, and compassion for both sides of a warring line so that this story may remain forever nothing more than just a story. This is a testament to their love and commitment to all of us in our country. Each and every one of you; are the true heroes of this tale.

This book is a book for the masses… for each and every hand that lies upon it and reads it. I have but only one request. And only of those that really enjoy the book. My request is that upon finishing it I encourage you to reflect upon how you feel and see it through the eyes of a prism.

Reengage it from another perspective and see if your feelings are still the same…the tender loving eyes of a mother, the faithful eyes of a young beautiful woman, and the eyes of a charismatic and ever faithful young man.

The lessons learned from this book are private and your own, a gift from me to you. But if you should ever wish to express your feelings I am forever open to your opinions. For you see, I have felt them all in the course of writing this book and I too can empathize with you. Love, Laugher, Joy, Fear, Anger, Sadness, Frustration… and a gambit much wider then I could ever cover here.

I, still at the end of this journey, feel the same as the day I started. I love you all, every side, every angle. I get it, and I do not know how to make it better. For me, I am just a writer… a writer that leaves this gift at your feet to decide its fate.
