Canon Tronis, an alien with magical powers, is sent to earth to prove that nothing can ever make the people living there happy.
“Look at that sky, Myth.” He pointed as he spoke. “Behind those stars and that big full moon is a small planet which is my home. It’s so far away that your earth has no knowledge it is even there. But we have always known of the earth’s existence. We have watched what happens here and the more we saw, the more confused we became. Your people never seem to be satisfied. All the time, we hear them crying ‘oh, I wish this!’ or ‘oh, I wish that!’ but even when they get what they want, they aren’t happy with it and want something else.”
Despite the fact that her mind was still reeling in disbelief that he was telling her he really was an alien, she couldn’t help but find herself lost in the truth of the rest of what he was saying. With a pounding heart, she waited for him to go on.
“We want to know why this happens. We want to know what it would take to make you happy - or if anything can.”
Canon has no idea how the answer he seeks will drastically change his own life forever.
