This novel is based on a true story.
To this day, many people still believe the Israeli attack on the U.S.S. LIBERTY was an unprovoked accident; a tragic case of mistaken identity.
It was the only time in history; the United States did not come to the aid of one of her own ships during an attack, which is a capital offense under U.S. Military Law. They also did not retaliate.
It was also the only time in U.S. history Congress did not investigate a maritime attack against a United States ship.
For Congress not to investigate either proved they were all duped by the conspirators, which is hard to believe that so many hundreds could be fooled at the same time; they believed the Israelis and let it go at that; proved their involvement, which is hard to believe nary one of them had any integrity; or some other unfathomable reason of this most important governing law-making body.
Evidence shows that President Johnson, Prime Minister Eshkol, and their cronies committed mass-murder and mayhem in order to annihilate the sovereign country of Egypt with the use of nuclear weapons.
With all the evidence that has now been brought forward, shouldn’t all the conspirators still alive today be prosecuted for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, international war crimes, and all other national and international crimes, and especially for attempting to annihilate a sovereign country?
34 of the U.S.S. LIBERTY crew members were killed and 171 were wounded.
Wouldn’t it be nice if today's Congress would open an honest investigation?
Wouldn’t it be even nicer if the President of the United States of America would award all the Sailors the Congressional Medal of Honor in the White House?
Why did the bridge crew ignore Sal when he attempted to communicate with them just before the attack?
Why did they leave international waters in triangular patterns so close to the shore?
The U.S.S. LIBERTY was later sold for scrap metal and was removed from the official registry, as if it never existed.
I do not want you or anyone else to think I am anti-Semitic. I AM NOT! I love all my fellow human beings and especially the Jews whom I deeply love, respect, and admire, as God's Chosen People. This is just the terrible accounting of what happened that awful day and it appears as though Israeli Prime Minister, Levi Eshkol, was in cahoots with U.S. President, Lyndon Johnson, and their respective cronies, and it is one heck-of-a nasty ugly story.
