Major Andrews has come to Count Lashings Island hoping to discover the fate of his fiancé and her two charges. He is joined in his hunt by Constance's sister, Hattie and the twin sisters of Nellie and Sophia. The captain of the ship refuses them to let go ashore. The small group plots to sneak onto the island despite the danger.
