Ted must have noticed Brenda’s shocked expression, because he chuckled to himself.
“I don’t get to this level of success without being observant,” he said.
“I’m Ted, what’s your name?” he asked.
“Brenda,” she replied, suddenly not knowing exactly what else to say, now that she was face to face with the man.
He was definitely stunningly handsome up close. So much so, that she had a hard time looking him directly in the eyes. His confidence just glowed.
“So, Brenda. What exactly is it that is troubling you these days? There is something there, and I can see it in your eyes,” Ted said.
“Well. I lost my job. So definitely money problems,” Brenda responded.
“And man problems?” Ted asked.
Brenda gulped. It was like he could see right through her.
She nodded her head.

“Let me guess, he either cheated, or didn’t treat you the way that you deserve to be treated,” Ted said.
“Oh my God. You hit it right on the head,” Brenda said, astonished.
Ted gestured for Brenda to come closer. She walked forward without reservation, suddenly even more intrigued by him.
Ted grasped her by the wrists, like he was trying to tap into her lifeline and read her future. He brought her closer to him by her wrists, and shocked the daylights out of her by planting his lips directly against Brenda’s, embracing her with a kiss surprisingly passionate to have come from a stranger.
