Antonia

While most of the rest of her family had gathered at Silvermeade, the

home of Lady Mallory, for Christmas, young, beautiful and extremely wealthy

Antonia Tresillion was still in London.

She was slowly recovering from a near-fatal bout of influenza in the care

of her childhood nurse. Her completely self-centered parents had left her

there so they could pursue their social life unencumbered.

Rescued from this abandonment by her sisters and recovered, she found

herself changed. No longer the compliant debutante reluctantly attending ton

parties chosen by her parents in the expectation of finding a 'good match', she

was now an independent young lady determined to make her own decisions,

especially in the choosing of a possible husband - despite the plans of her

ambitious parents.
