Three years after a devastating earthquake and tsunami set off a nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan, San Diego-based author Kimball Taylor traveled to the area to examine the impact on Northern Japan’s surfing community. His gripping first-hand account profiles a committed group of surfers that had initially struggled to justify playing in an ocean that had so recently taken thousands of lives, but which was once again beginning to find a semblance of normal life.
