Following the excavations of Schliemann and the discovery of the Bronze Age cities of Troy and Mycenae, the Bronze Age palace of Knossos in ancient Crete was excavated by Evans in 1900 A.D. He discovered a cache of inscribed clay tablets with two different sets of writing termed Linear A and Linear B. Linear B was deciphered by Ventris and found to be an early form of Greek. In this book Dr. Dr. Dickens presents evidence from linguistic archaeological and historical sources to show that the underlying Language of the Linear A script is an Elamo-Dravidian one ( Ancient Tamil ) and that it was spoken over a wide area during the Bronze Age extending from Crete in the Aegean region through Lycia in the Anatolian plateau, Elam in the Persian Plateau and on to the Indus Valley Civilization. This is also more than a book on decipherment. The cultural and historical backgrounds of the different civilizations are analyzed and their links to present day civilizations are drawn.
