Eventually, he slowly turned from the window and faced her. He dug deep into himself and found the willpower to keep his emotions from showing on his face. Lord, Sheri was even more beautiful than he remembered from seeing her last. He thought he had memorized every delicate feature she possessed, but he was mistaken. His gaze drank in her beauty and it didn’t seem as if he could get enough in those next few tense moments.
He knew she’d make an appearance at the cosmetic firm since the bank in Italy phoned him and gave him the heads up. Since receiving the news, Jake hadn’t missed a day of showing up at the office only wanting to make sure he was there when she arrived. There was so much to explain to her, but he didn’t feel as if this was the right time to go into detail about the business dealings.
