Edison's Conquest of Mars

The “un-official” sequel to War of the Worlds by Garrett P. Serviss! It first appeared in 1898 and this story invents many concepts that were later to become staples of the Science Fiction genre! Serviss managed to get permission from Thomas Edison to use his name and he is the hero of this epic tale that includes the birth of the ray gun, fully functional space suits, asteroid mining, epic space battles, alien abductions and the idea that aliens built the pyramids!
