Part Two
The Callahan's continue their journey across mostly uncharted lands hoping to find a better life, and experience rough river crossings, death, and emotional turbulence which only causes KC to wonder if they will ever reach their destination, alive.
However, the sometimes push-pull of underlying sexual tension between a fur trapper named Kane Foster and KC begins to blossom, but Conrad Jacks the trail boss, is consumed with KC and wants to be the wedge that drives them apart.
Meanwhile, the suspicious Maggie Randell continues fight against everything KC tries to accomplish in order to give her daughter everything in life she never had. That is until new information becomes known, making her wonder whom KC really is.
Nevertheless, Fawn (KC’s daughter) admires Maggie’s independence, and Kane's silent but strong demeanor, but her allegiance will always be with her mother. For her mother's love is everything and all she could ever ask for. But she struggles with KC’s addiction, which is the cause of many sleepless nights, as she wonders what else she can do to help her mother forget her past.
