Suddenly Korey burst into a run toward the two girls. He was waving his hands, his eyes wide. “RUN!!” he bellowed at the two little girls. He was only two to three years their senior, but this spurred them enough that Meredith jolted upright and tugged on Magdalynn’s hand.
Magdalynn felt the burn of her arm and hopped up. The two girls then ran side by side, refusing to let go of each other…
Pain gripped Magdalynn’s shoulder as fingers wrapped around her shoulder and yanked her backward. Magdalynn immediately shoved Meredith’s hand out of hers. Hell could not drag her down with Meredith, but Meredith flung herself, screaming, and landed on top of Magdalynn.
