Battlefield Afghanistan:The Hurt Locker: The inside story of Coalition Forces on the Front Line is the first book to be released in the UK on the current conflict in Afghanistan. It describes the forces involved in the conflict, and the daunting challenges that they have to face on a daily basis as they battle for the freedom of the Afghan people and the security of the West. Soviet experiences are also examined in detail and compared to current practices now being used by UK forces and NATO as they fight al-Qaeda and the Taliban. "Battlefield Afghanistan" is the first thorough going account of the war in the former Taliban state: not the politics behind the conflict, but the actual situation for the men on the ground. "Battlefield Afghanistan" tells the real, inside story of the men under fire, based upon first-hand evidence from members of 3 Para, 16 AAB, the Royal Marines and the Special Forces community, together with the views and experiences of our US and Canadian Allies.
