Current literature knows ectopic pregnancy to exist in about 8 different sites in the female body. Most times at about 12 weeks of gestosis, it either ruptures and need surgical intervention to rescue the woman or it is medically removed using Metothrexate in the recommneded dose if it is detected before rupture.Pain is the commonest presenting sign in rupture ectopic in at least 50% of cases and surgery is used in 93% of ruptured cases while 6% is often for the medical unruptured cases. However what is new now, is that term gestosis, 38-40 weeks, can occur and need extraction at 36weeks to prevent rupture and save the baby.
