Unexpectedly, my editor called and requested that I ghostwrite a book about a nurse who worked at an asylum. Not just any asylum but the one most haunted. Curiosity got the best of me. I was very familiar with this place. Mom and Dad were employed by this institution.

When Dad would pick Mom up at work, we would walk through freezing cold hallways leading to the dining room, and waited in the empty cafeteria for Mom to finish her shift. It was the middle of summer, ninety-degree weather, and this place didn't have air conditioning. It was scary then, but I figured it was my youthful imagination running wild.

Here's a secret - what Harvey didn't know, while sitting in the backseat of the family car, I overheard my parents talk about an operating room nurse who was found dead in her apartment located on the hospital grounds. It wasn't classified as murder, death by natural causes but everyone knew it was the unthinkable. I wonder if this is the same nurse.
