Montana's Historical Highway Markers

For more than seventy years Montanans and tourists have pulled over to enjoy reading the state’s roadside historical and geological markers. The brainchild of gifted storyteller Bob Fletcher, the original signs told colorful stories of Montana's Indians and pioneers; the signs have since been expanded to include the state's geological wonders, dinosaurs, and the adventures of Lewis and Clark.

This freshly revised and expanded book has the texts of all 251 markers. Buffalo jumps, gold strikes, mining disasters, and battles famous and obscure, all get their due, plus stories of epidemics, railroads, wagon roads and highways, wilderness areas, nuclear missile silos, and mountain ranges.
